Using the GTA

The GTA series are passive, transformer-balanced inline impedance converters.  GTA adaptors are fully balanced, and all TRS inputs/outputs may be used in balanced or unbalanced configurations, according to whether a TS or TRS plug is inserted into the device.

The GTA adaptors are designed for use with instruments wired for balanced output, but will also work with unbalanced instruments, and can be used to create a balanced output with an unbalanced source (DI applications). Using a standard TS cable, the GTA will operate as a standard passive DI adaptor.

Read about how to use the GTA to eliminate interference from your guitar signal, from the pickups through to the preamplifier, on the Guitar Wiring page.

Available configurations as follows:

GTA, Instrument/microphone matching (DI):
200KΩ TRS input : 1KΩ XLRM output, -22dB.

GTA, Line/instrument matching: 10KΩ XLRF input : 500Ω TRS output, -14dB.
